Until March 8 - Policy we will follow

In these coming days, I am somewhat distant from our Blog due to study commitments. I carefully considered how to carry forward this entire endeavor alongside the Blog posts, but even so, I don’t see much effort being possible, since it is necessary to dedicate oneself solely to one thing: studying. I am preparing for the Civil Service Exam of the Federal Chamber of Deputies. That said, our Blog is also a constructive space where I publish the trends I observe, and I thought: I will combine both needs, at least until March 8 (the exam date).

During this period, I decided it would be best to post about the Civil Service Exam and also to show the reality of Brazilians who face this battle: the pursuit of a public position. The position I am applying for is Legislative Technical Analyst, an exam whose syllabus covers 10 very specific subjects: Portuguese Language, Ethics and Decorum, Constitutional Law and Legislative Process, Analytical Reasoning, Political Science, Governance and Management, Information Technology, Administrative Law, Public Administration, and finally, English Language.

The exam will consist of 180 objective questions, with 90 in the general category and 90 in the specific category. It will be administered by CEBRASPE in the format of statements where the candidate must mark True or False for each proposition. If you answer correctly, you gain a point; if you answer incorrectly, the point you earned is canceled—question by question. Regarding difficulties, my greatest challenge is Political Science, since in my practice tests of 30 questions, I have been missing 13. Therefore, this is my biggest weakness. On the other hand, in Information Technology, out of 14 questions, I missed only one.

Given this scenario, it is impossible not to feel concerned, because it is necessary to reach a certain score for the essay portion to be corrected. I have been very anxious for the exam to arrive quickly, as I consider it a great challenge to take it, and if I pass, I will have to move to Brazil’s capital—Brasília—which is one of my dreams. In other words, passing this exam would be the fulfillment of a dream, and thus, I need to unite the useful with the necessary. Therefore, the posts that will follow here on our Blog will focus on the Civil Service Exam theme until the exam date. I thank you in advance for your attention, and afterward we will be able to discuss many other topics.
